The Network Contract Manager for UHN develops the provider network yielding a geographically competitive, broad access, stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners. Network Contract Managers evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining solid business relationships with providers and ensuring the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties. Applicants must be willing to work Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CST.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Managing relationships with providers 
• Manage unit cost budgets, target setting, performance reporting and associated financial models
• Guide development of the network and negotiate agreements with facility, physicians, and medical groups yielding a geographically competitive, broad access, stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners
• Evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls
• Ensure that network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties
• Maintain existing network contracts and any contracting events that occur during the term of the agreement while generating savings opportunities for affordability initiatives
• Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues
• Work cross functionally to facilitate resolution of issues
• Position will support all contracting of primarily facility and physician providers for all lines of business

Required Qualifications: 

• 2+ years of experience in a network management-related role, such as contracting or provider services
• 2+ years of experience utilizing financial models and analysis in strategy development
• Proven knowledge of provider reimbursement methodologies 
• Advanced level of proficiency using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
• Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information form others
• Ability to work CST hours of Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Preferred Qualifications:  

• 2+ years of experience negotiating rates with providers
• Experience conducting provider meetings in-person or virtually
• In-depth knowledge of Medicare Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS)
• Intermediate level of knowledge of claims processing systems and guidelines
• Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, CoPilot, etc.)
• Willing and able to travel up to 10% +/- depending on business need (Iowa onsite meetings, providers, etc.)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
