OptumRx is seeking a Data Research Analyst to support our TennCare client, Tennessee's Medicaid program. This role is responsible for analyzing pharmacy and healthcare data, producing required reports, identifying trends and opportunities, and providing data-driven insights that support client decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working with large datasets, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.

This is a remote position - must reside in Tennessee and be willing to travel to Nashville as needed.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Generate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports required by the client contract
• Develop and fulfill ad hoc reporting requests from TennCare and internal stakeholders
• Serve as a subject matter expert on data maintained by OptumRx on behalf of the client
• Assist client staff with decision-support systems and reporting tools
• Gather, document, and validate business and reporting requirements
• Analyze and interpret healthcare and pharmacy data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities
• Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Produce, publish, and distribute scheduled and ad hoc client and operational reports
• Provide explanations and interpretations of data within area of expertise
• Manage multiple priorities and complex analytical assignments
• Collaborate closely with the OptumRx Account Director, clinical team members, and client stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of experience in business analysis, financial analysis, systems analysis, or requirements gathering
• 2+ years of experience documenting business processes, workflows, and requirements within a structured project environment
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and database management tools
• Proven solid analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Medicaid Fee-for-Service or Managed Medicaid programs
• PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) or healthcare industry experience
• Implementation or project deployment experience
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Access, SharePoint, and Visio
• Client-facing, account management, or stakeholder engagement experience
• SQL and/or SAS programming experience
• Experience analyzing pharmacy utilization, prescription trends, and healthcare costs

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
