Primary Responsibilities: 

• Client/Customer and Community Facing - Representing all MBH and Optum departments with the customer
• Lead behavioral health benefit management for MN Medicaid
• Stay informed of all MN DHS benefit and process changes. Ensure implementation of the changes
• Be involved and stay informed with MN Legislature & Federal changes that impact Medicaid and MN DSNP LOB. Lead efforts to ensure Optum is compliant with state laws
• Lead MN DHS annual contract review and ensure implementation of the changes
• Interface with Payer Performance Channel
• Interface BH Ops and ECS including reporting, work groups, ad hoc requests and presentation expectations
• Participate in strategic initiatives and program planning withing BH Ops as related to MN Medicaid
• Participate in MBH Team leadership group
• Ensure Optum is compliant with Medicaid Contracts and meeting state benefit requirements
• Coordinate and collaborate with Client Management/Account Management, Network Management and Product Sales
• Participate in strategic initiatives and program planning with Product/solutions and with the client especially around contract renewals or RFPs.
• Promote Medica and Medica Behavioral health in the community via coordinate marketing efforts and attendance community and state meetings
• Collaborate with Optum and Medica Compliance teams
• Support all things MN Medicaid: Contract review, report requirements, claims inquires, and audits

Manages a specific good or service available externally on the market that can be sold stand-alone, and that directly generates revenue. Responsible for the full product lifecycle management, including: strategy, design, development, management and end of life of new, existing or acquisition products. Leverage market insights to understand market/customer needs to identify new opportunities or make adjustments to current product offerings. Accountable for delivering product performance against expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs. Accountable to and/or own the P&L. Partner with internal or external stakeholders (key customers, product partnerships, etc.) to define and drive future product direction.

Required Qualifications: 

• Possess an independent, current, and unrestricted Minnesota License in the field of behavioral health with a minimum of five years' experience
• Experience with and understanding of Minnesota's overall behavioral health system that includes mental health, alcohol and drug addictions, and developmental disabilities services
• Experience with managed care principles, models, and financing
• Experience in public sector mental health or non-profit community mental health, with extensive knowledge of the Medicaid populations
• Proficient data analytic skills; ability to identify gaps, trends, and mitigation strategies
• Proficiency with computers, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams at a minimum along with an understanding of web-based applications
• Experience building solid and effective teams, facilitate staff working together collaboratively, and grow and retain top talent
• Driver's License and access to a reliable transportation
• Reside in Minnesota

• Travel as needed

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
