The Marketing Director leads B2B and B2B2C marketing for Optum Serve's federal government business delivering healthcare and consulting services. This role develops integrated strategies to strengthen brand awareness, generate qualified leads and drive client acquisition and retention. Responsibilities include creating thought leadership content, supporting sales enablement and executing consumer engagement campaigns to meet participation goals. The position also contributes to RFP processes and collaborates with Growth and Product teams to align marketing with strategic priorities. Reports to the Vice President of Optum Serve Marketing.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • B2B Marketing: Design and execute integrated campaigns to build brand equity, generate leads and support client retention Partner with business leaders and growth teams to align strategies with market priorities
  • Account-Based Marketing: Develop targeted ABM programs for strategic federal agencies, leveraging pipeline insights and RFP timelines
  • Consumer Engagement: Oversee data-driven, multi-channel campaigns to drive member participation Innovate through testing creative concepts and engagement approaches
  • Content Development: Create and manage marketing assets, including collateral, presentations, and thought leadership materials
  • Sales Enablement: Provide insights into buyer behavior, develop messaging and support sales with tools and strategies
  • Channel Management: Maintain digital and print properties to ensure consistent brand identity and program visibility
  • Measurement & Reporting: Establish KPIs, track campaign performance, and report ROMI to stakeholders
  • Budget Oversight: Manage marketing budgets, ensure reconciliation of expenses and forecasts and ensure resource allocation aligns with objectives
  • Collaboration: Foster solid internal and external relationships, coordinate cross-program efforts and uphold brand and compliance standards

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, including B2B and B2B2C
  • 3+ years managing team
  • Experience managing external agencies
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, (IE, Salesforce, Marketo, Adobe Creative Suite) and Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-channel campaigns in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated success in communicating with and influencing senior leadership and constituents in a highly matrixed structure
  • Ability to travel up 20-25% for conferences, client events, and production shoots to mostly to Washington, DC

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Federal healthcare experience
  • Experience marketing to health plans and state governments
  • Knowledge of brand tracking and consumer engagement strategies

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 to $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
