Role Overview
Responsible for monitoring application and infrastructure health using Dynatrace, Splunk and Zabbix, responding to P1 (Priority 1) alerts, and performing initial-level debugging and escalation to ensure minimal downtime
Primary Responsibilities:
- Incident Management and Debugging
- Perform initial triage and root cause analysis (RCA) for P1 incidents
- Follow defined runbooks and SOPs for common P1 scenarios
- Coordinate with application, database, network and infrastructure teams during incidents
- Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams with proper documentation
- Update incident tickets in tools such as ServiceNow or Jira with findings and actions taken
- Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to RCA documentation
- Communication and Reporting
- Send timely incident notifications and status updates to stakeholders
- Maintain shift handover notes with open issues and pending actions
- Document recurring issues and suggest improvements to monitoring setup
- Attend daily/weekly operations review meetings
- Application Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot application startup failures and deployment issues
- Investigate REST API failures, connection issues and timeout problems
- Analyze slow transactions using Dynatrace PurePath tracing
- Monitoring and Alerting
- Monitor real-time dashboards in Dynatrace, Splunk and Zabbix during assigned shifts
- Acknowledge and triage incoming P1 alerts within defined SLA timeframes
- Ensure all critical alerts are reviewed and no alert goes unattended
- Validate alert thresholds and reduce false positives by working with senior engineers
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Monitoring and Observability Tools
- Hands-on experience with Dynatrace: dashboards, PurePath tracing, Smartscape and Davis AI
- Working knowledge of Splunk: log analysis, SPL queries, saved searches and alerting
- Familiarity with Zabbix: host monitoring, triggers, templates and alert management
- Incident Management
- Experience handling P1/P2 incidents: triage, escalation and resolution
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or Jira for ticket management and documentation
- Knowledge of ITIL fundamentals: incident, problem and change management
- Demonstrated ability to follow runbooks and SOPs independently
- Debugging and Root Cause Analysis
- Experience correlating data across multiple tools to isolate failures
- Basic understanding of application performance monitoring (APM) concepts
- Proven comfortable working with Linux command line for basic server-level debugging
- Demonstrated ability to analyze logs, traces and metrics to identify root cause
- Scripting and Automation
- Exposure to API-based integrations between monitoring tools
- Basic scripting in Shell, Java or PowerShell for alert automation and log parsing
- Ability to write and optimize SPL queries in Splunk
- Application Troubleshooting
- Experience troubleshooting Java applications built using Spring Boot and Microservices
- Demonstrated ability to analyze Java exception logs and stack traces
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Kubernetes / containerized environments / Azure for pod-level debugging
- Exposure to APM concepts and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP basics)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
