This position supports the legal-entity simplification project, with primary responsibility for the complex, multi-basis accounting and investment tracking associated with asset transfers executed as part of the project's reinsurance transactions.

The Senior Treasury Consultant provides senior-level execution and technical leadership within Corporate Treasury's Investment, Debt, and Derivative Accounting team. The role owns complex investment accounting, NAIC compliance, period-end close activities, and the integration of investments and financial information from acquired or reorganized entities. The consultant ensures accurate reporting across legal entity & consolidate GAAP, statutory, and tax bases while strengthening controls, resolving complex issues, and improving operational efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Own accounting and compliance for assigned portions of the investment portfolio across U.S. GAAP, statutory, and tax bases
• Lead key period-end close activities, including account analysis, reconciliations, reasonableness reviews, journal entries, and issue resolution
• Lead the accounting and integration of complex investments, including multi-basis asset transfers, asset-based financing, private credit, mortgages, and equity-backed instruments
• Support legal-entity simplification and reinsurance transactions by maintaining accurate investment tracking, accounting conclusions, and financial reporting through each asset-transfer stage
• Ensure compliance with NAIC requirements, including support for Schedules B, BA, D, and DA and analysis of risk-based capital and related regulatory considerations
• Partner with Capital Markets, Cash Management, Investment Management, Tax, and other Finance teams to support transaction setup, reporting, reconciliation, and accounting conclusions
• Process and review investment transactions, gains and losses, intercompany loans, eliminations, debt, derivatives, and potential foreign-exchange hedging activities
• Serve as a subject-matter expert for accounting systems and complex investment products, providing technical guidance and supporting timely issue resolution
• Strengthen controls and improve reporting accuracy by standardizing processes, reducing manual work, and using data and automation tools effectively

Measures of Success

• Accurate and timely close and financial reporting across all required accounting bases
• Successful accounting and integration of asset transfers and acquired or reorganized investment portfolios
• Complete supportable statutory schedules, regulatory analyses, and audit documentation
• Measurable reduction in manual processing, reconciliation exceptions, and recurring control issues

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 5+ years of experience in Treasury, Finance, or a related accounting field
• Demonstrated experience with 1 or more of the following: investment products, accounting systems, period-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and/or experience with statutory accounting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis, and process automation
• Demonstrated ability to independently resolve complex issues, manage competing priorities, and meet demanding reporting deadlines
• Demonstrated solid written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA, CFA, or CTP certification
• Big 4 experience
• NAIC requirements, tax-basis accounting, or insurance regulations
• Experience with complex investments, debt, derivatives, mortgages, private credit, or multi-basis asset transfers
• Experience preparing or supporting NAIC investment schedules and risk-based capital analysis
• Experience integrating investments or financial information from acquired, reorganized, or reinsured entities
• Experience with State Street's PAM for Investments or PAM for Mortgages and FIS Quantum
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, Bloomberg, Power BI, Python, macros, or comparable reporting and automation tools
• Experience coaching less-experienced team members or serving as a technical resource in a matrixed environment

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
