The UHG Events Center of Excellence (ECOE) is seeking a Senior Event Strategist to support the strategy, planning and execution of enterprise events that strengthen client engagement and advance business priorities. This role works closely with the Senior Director to ensure alignment with strategic goals, audience needs and enterprise priorities. The Senior Event Strategist contributes to event content and experience development by supporting speaker and VIP coordination, assisting with discussion guides and session narrative materials in partnership with business leaders, and helping develop clear and effective attendee communications. The role collaborates extensively with communications, marketing, creative and business stakeholders to ensure polished, cohesive and well-coordinated event experiences.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Event strategy and experiential planning
    • Drive assigned event initiatives and partner with the Senior Director on enterprise-level events, supporting agenda planning, content development, experience design and stakeholder coordination
    • Assist in defining event goals, milestones and success metrics, ensuring clarity across stakeholders and project teams
    • Contribute to development of content frameworks based on enterprise priorities, audience insights and segment leader objectives
  • Speaker, executive and VIP support
    • Coordinate outreach, preparation and communication for speakers and VIPs for assigned events
    • Prepare speaker briefing materials, bios, talking points and prep documents with direction from the Senior Director
    • Support VIP engagement activities, including preparation, scheduling and onsite coordination during major enterprise events
    • Maintain organized, accurate and up-to-date materials that support leaders and speakers
  • Content, discussion guide and communication support
    • Assist with the development of discussion guides, moderator questions, session outlines and narrative materials in collaboration with business partners and content owners
    • Draft attendee communications for assigned events and partner with communications and creative teams to ensure all materials are clear, aligned and on brand
    • Maintain templates and content assets for the event strategy team
  • Cross-functional collaboration and project coordination
    • Partner with marketing, communications, creative partners, event management and business partners to ensure smooth execution across all phases of the event lifecycle
    • Support end-to-end project management by tracking deliverables, managing timelines and ensuring alignment across stakeholders
    • Help maintain accurate project plans and ensure required materials, reviews and approvals are completed on schedule
  • Data, insights and continuous improvement
    • Assist with reviewing event data, attendee feedback and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
    • Recommend enhancements to measurement approaches and reporting based on learnings and best practices
    • Monitor industry trends, audience behaviors and competitive approaches to inform recommendations for event content and experience design
  • Support to Senior Director and ECOE Leadership
    • Support special projects and department initiatives, as assigned
    • Assist in preparing executive-ready materials, including post-event summaries, insights, briefings and recommendations
    • Contribute to the development of scalable processes, templates and playbooks that strengthen the ECOE operating model

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in event strategy, event management, marketing or a related discipline 
  • Experience supporting speaker management, content preparation and attendee communication development 
  • Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) 
  • Proven solid writing skills, including ability to draft clear and concise event-related content 
  • Proven solid collaboration and communication skills with comfort working across stakeholder groups
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and work with ambiguity
  • Proven ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to support key events
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines and details in a fast-paced environment 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CMP or CMM certification, or interest in pursuing
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level or executive-facing events in the healthcare industry
  • Experience with virtual or hybrid event formats
  • Familiarity with event and project management tools or platforms

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
