The Sr. Software Solutions Executive is responsible for driving nationwide revenue growth through strategic prospecting, consultative selling, and acquisition of net-new healthcare customers for Optum's software-as-a-service (SaaS) portfolio. This role is primarily focused on identifying, developing, and closing new-logo SaaS business opportunities across the United States while building executive-level relationships and expanding Optum's market presence. The Sr. Software Solutions Executive collaborates with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and other internal partners to align SaaS solutions with customer business challenges and support long-term growth. In addition to driving new-logo business, the role supports select renewal opportunities, including high-risk or complex accounts where senior software sales expertise is needed.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute nationwide territory and account strategies to achieve assigned new-business revenue, new-logo acquisition, SaaS renewal, and growth objectives
  • Prospect, identify, qualify, develop, and close net-new SaaS business opportunities with healthcare organizations across the United States, with a primary focus on acquiring new-logo customers
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, strategic account targeting, and other lead-generation activities
  • Lead consultative discovery discussions to understand customer business challenges, operational priorities, compliance considerations, and desired outcomes
  • Position and sell Optum's software-as-a-service (SaaS) portfolio by connecting solution capabilities to customer business, operational, and strategic priorities
  • Present compelling value propositions and solution recommendations to executive decision-makers, influencers, and other key stakeholders
  • Navigate complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, procurement processes, solution alignment, contracting, and negotiations
  • Identify strategic expansion opportunities within existing SaaS customer relationships when aligned with growth initiatives
  • Partner with Account Management and Customer Success teams to support select strategic, high-risk, or complex SaaS renewal opportunities while maintaining a primary focus on new-logo business growth
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, Sales Leadership, subject-matter experts, and other internal stakeholders to execute growth strategies and address customer needs
  • Maintain accurate opportunity records, pipeline activity, forecasting, and sales documentation within designated CRM systems
  • Monitor healthcare industry trends, regulatory developments, customer priorities, market dynamics, and competitive offerings to inform sales strategy
  • Participate in ongoing sales training, coaching, and professional development activities
  • Share best practices and collaborate with peers to improve sales effectiveness, productivity, and overall team performance

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of business development, consultative sales, account management, or related sales experience
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and engaging executive-level decision-makers and other organizational stakeholders
  • Healthcare industry sales experience, including experience selling healthcare technology, software-as-a-service (SaaS), revenue cycle, analytics, or related software solutions to healthcare organizations
  • Proficiency using CRM platforms for pipeline management, opportunity tracking, forecasting, and sales activity documentation
  • Demonstrated success prospecting and developing net-new business opportunities through outbound sales activities and strategic account development
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding assigned sales quotas, revenue targets, or new-business goals
  • Demonstrated solid consultative selling, presentation, communication, negotiation, influencing, and relationship-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across multiple levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and other customer-facing or operational teams


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience selling to hospitals, health systems, provider groups, payers, employers, or other healthcare organizations
  • Experience selling enterprise SaaS solutions involving multiple stakeholders, extended sales cycles, and material annual contract values
  • Knowledge of healthcare market trends, regulatory considerations, technology environments, and customer purchasing processes

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $50,000 - $115,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
